We realize several models of chitarra battente (4/4 and 3/4), the traditional Calabrian guitar with flat or vaulted back, fitted with staves.You can ask for custom-made instruments with several modifications according to your personal tastes and needs (types of tuning pegs, plug-in for amplifiers, decorations, inlay works, etc.).
We can find this instrument in Italy since the XIV century. Soon was adopted by central and southern Italy musical traditions; during these centuries it has become very different from the ancient model of refined origin, acquiring several autonomous characteristics. Today it’s called Italian guitar in contrast with the classic guitar imported from France only few centuries ago, that is called French guitar.
